well.... actually a fossil
i joked with emily this morning (we were cleaning together via icq ;)
that i wouldn't be surprised if i found a fossil... and i did!
well..... it wasn't a fossil created in and by my (and i use the term loosely) room
it was a fossil that was purchased for my son
a trilobite from Morocco approx. 500 million years old to be exact (give or take a million years)
i even found the receipt
i'd say that beats your soggy cheerio of indiscriminate age Em -- and your dust-bunny covered Babe (the pig) sheep (i'm still not clear on that one though)
also found:
a pez santa
a fido dido doll
tons of pics (none of me thankfully)
unopened bank statements from the year 2000 (maybe i thought with the y2K bug they wouldn't be correct anyway???)
baby pics of friends' kids (i never know wtf to do with those things)
song lyrics from some of my favourite songs (no doubt so i could sing loudly along while alone ;)
my webdesign certificate from Seneca
letters and drawings from our foster child (new and old)
and in one pile i even found a printout of my email arranging an interview for a job i had a zillion years ago... ok ... i know they didn't have email a zillion years ago... it just seems like a zillion years ago
so much has changed and so much remains the same
... here's a bit of it... saved for posterity (or is that proposterousity?) before it goes to the shredder:

Dear Jay,
I'm happy to say I checked one last time before signing off and getting ready to leave for Seneca (the driving is going to be lengthy today!)
I would be happy to meet with you on Friday. The earlier the better -- 11:00 is great. Not wanting to sound desperate, [**too late you already do, you idiot**] but I did check out your website and it has a look and feel that I really like. Not your typical Yahoo/Amazon.com look. It's refreshing to see a different look. [**and what exactly do you know ... obviously NOTHING!!**]
Unless I hear otherwise from you, I will plan on seeing you at 11:00 on Friday at 1425 Bayview Avenue, Suite 302. I look forward to it.
Yours truly,
wtf was that?!?!?! blech... should i barf now or later?
poor jay... i don't think he ever knew what hit him... is it any wonder he didn't trust me much... after a letter like that???
well... it was always interesting, if not always fun and i learned so much, about so much...
i'm glad i sent that email
and i'm glad i found it today...
you know, babe was a pig in the barnyard, and there were some sheep, too, one of which i found behind a shelf, covered in dust. it's still lying prone on the floor, looking a bit like an amateur peta video, but let's not go there.
